Tallow is pure, rendered beef suet — Tallow is pure, rendered beef fat — but not the kind of fat you see on the edge of a supermarket steak. We make our tallow from suet, which is the clean, hard fat found around the kidneys and loins of the cow.
Ours comes from 100% grass-fed cattle raised on local Sussex farms. It’s rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, and it's fatty acid profile closely matches our skin’s natural oils, making it deeply nourishing and easily absorbed. For a more detailed description on our Tallow, click here!
No — our products contain grass-fed beef tallow, so they aren’t vegan. We like to think back to our ancestral roots, when every part of an animal was valued and nothing was wasted. These days, suet (the pure fat from around the kidneys) is often a by-product of the farming industry, so using it not only honours that tradition but also helps prevent waste. Our Tallow is sustainably sourced, grass fed beef and free from synthetic fillers.
If you’re vegan and feeling ethically challenged by trying Ain’t No Udder, we like to think that using a by-product from a cow is a way of respecting the whole animal, reducing waste, and supporting small-scale, regenerative farming — rather than letting something nourishing go unused.
Yes. We avoid synthetic fragrances, dyes, and harsh chemicals. We only use essential oils (in low, skin-safe amounts) and nutrient-rich natural ingredients that are gentle on the skin. For more information click here for our ingredients library page!
We only use pure essential oils for scent and skin benefits — such as Boswellia Serrata (frankincense), sweet orange (Citrus Sinensis Peel Oil), peppermint (Mentha Piperita Oil), and blood orange (Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Oil). No artificial fragrances, ever. For more information click here for our ingredients page!
Our Summer Moo'd cream is made with natural water repelling oils and minerals making it stick around for those summer dunks! However, we do recommend reapplying after swimming or sweating for the best protection.
Zinc oxide is a naturally occurring mineral that works as a physical barrier to the sun — it sits on top of your skin to reflect and scatter UV rays, rather than being absorbed into your body.
“Non-nano” means the zinc oxide particles are larger than 100 nanometres, so they can’t pass through your skin or enter your bloodstream. This makes it one of the safest sun-reflecting ingredients out there, even sensitive skin.
We love it because it gives broad-spectrum protection from both UVA (ageing) and UVB (burning) rays, all without the chemical filters found in most mainstream creams.
Many parents choose tallow-based skincare for their children due to its gentle nature, but we recommend patch-testing first — especially if using essential oil–containing products.
With no added water, our products have a long shelf life — around 12 months if stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
We use olive-derived squalane because it’s lightweight, non-greasy, and helps lock in moisture. It also boosts the skin’s elasticity and works beautifully with tallow. For more information click here for our ingredients page!
No chemical preservatives are needed — the absence of water in our formulas and the natural stability of our ingredients mean they stay fresh without synthetic additives. For more information click here for our ingredients page!
Yes — we never test on animals, and our suppliers share the same cruelty-free values. Although we use Grass Fed Beef Tallow in our products, Tallow is often a by-product of the farming industry and is something that would otherwise go to waste. By using it, we’re making use of an ingredient that already exists, rather than creating additional demand for animal products, and turning it into something that nourishes skin instead of being discarded.
Store them in a cool, dry place. In very hot weather, our creams and balms may soften — if this happens, just pop them in the fridge for a short time to firm up.
Yes — all real soap is made with lye, but none remains in the final bar. During saponification, the lye reacts completely with the oils, leaving a gentle, skin-loving bar. For more information click here for our ingredients page!
All Ain’t No Udder products are handmade in small batches in Brighton, UK, using locally sourced, organic ingredients whenever possible.
